As far as the toaster aspect, it does an ok job when I'm toasting 4 slices of something, but we have a regular toaster (with a bagel setting) that we use for toast, english muffins, and bagels. I love using it to warm up/melt cheese on sandwiches. I also use it to bake or keep things warm if I'm using the larger oven.
I do use it when baking or broiling small things (instead of using large oven). Like others reviewers, I haven't noticed that it cooks any faster. Loved to use it for baking, broiling, reheating, melting cheese on a sandwich. it toasted better than other toaster ovens we've had. Why is it SO hard to find a reasonable selection of reasonable quality products of this type anymore?! This site lists like 100 or so products of this type but just try and find any kind of reasonable selection at ANY store. But than it's cheap and made in China so I guess I should not have expected different.Ī point of interest. Overall it's a nicely sized and outfitted product that falls WAY short of expectation. When you open the door it does NOT shut off. I would have preferred no accessories and more quality in exchange.Ī glaring safety fault was also discovered. Also the extra accessories (cookie sheets, pizza stone, etc.) were nice touches.
I did like the fact that it's heavy and the non skid feet are nice. We didn't bother to try much else in it other than some toaster strudel (which again cooked very well but noisily). It did make decent toast but between the noise and the door I was concerned. When cooled the door was better but not right. Additionally the door began to bind and not close properly. We noticed too that the fan became increasingly noisy to the point of being annoying. Thank heavens our range has a large exterior vented hood. This resulted in copious quantities of smoke and unpleasant smells (like a machine shop). Following directions we unpacked and turned the unit on high to "burn it off".
